Beatrice Eberhart, mixed media artist

Beatrice Eberhard grew up in Switzerland, studied fine art ceramic at the school of art and design SfG in Bern. In 2000 she immigrated to Canada and lived 12 years in Alberta before moving to Gananoque, Ontario in 2013. Her textile collages are made out of scraps of fabric, glued together, free motion quilted and stretched over canvas.

In her mixed media collages, you can find quilted elements and newspaper, as well as parts of her photographs. Having lived in different parts of the world, her life feels often like a collage itself, disconnected, ripped apart. But when she is able to connect her worlds, somehow it feels like magic; the same fascinating feeling when she makes these connections in her work.
