Note from MAG president, Larry Thompson, in follow-up to this tremendous event, held September 14 at the MUAC (Merrickville United Arts Centre).
Thank you to all the artists who participated in the very successful MAG Vernissage on Friday night. The exhibition was stunning and impressed all who came. Estimates put the crowd at shy of 200 people, and folks lingered until after 10 pm.
Special thanks to Nick Previsich & Joelle Schimd who arranged the food from three of our sponsors: Mrs. McGarrigles, Village Bean and Nana B’s.
Also special thanks to Linda Hynes, Mary Loos and Jim Weller for figuring out how to exhibit in a challenging new venue; and to Chuck Willemsen and Gary Viola for creating and staging the video that played through the event.
And what a venue! I’m delighted that so many artists and people from the village came to see the extraordinary changes that have happened with the United Church, and to imagine the possibilities that exist for future artistic ventures in the village.
We all owe a big thanks to Mark Sine, who runs MUAC, for gifting us the space for free for the evening and his efforts in preparing the venue and managing the lighting of the artwork.
