MAG ConversationsWith guest speakers Katharine and Eric Fletcher.Author, visual artist, and environmental columnist Katharine Fletcher will be discussing her passion which is the awareness of Nature’s beauty and its conservation.

Since the publication of her first book, Historical Walks: The Gatineau Park Story in 1988, Katharine has devoted her life to exploring and learning about the complex, fascinating natural world in which we live.

As a travel journalist, she was Chair of Sustainable Tourism for the Canadian Chapter of the Society of American Travel Writers for five years. As a writer, she has written her environmental column for almost 32 years. And, as a visual artist, one of her themes is Endangered, where she creates art promoting awareness of wildlands and species at risk.

Eric Fletcher adds to the art of conservation as he created the maps for Katharine’s books. A photographer, Eric chronicled the wildlife and landscapes the couple encountered as they camped, paddled, hiked, rode horseback, snowshoed, and otherwise explored Quebec’s Dumoine River, the Gatineau Park, Northern BC’s Muskwa Kechika, Antarctica, and Australia.
