About Heather
Although I came to painting later in life after raising a son and enjoying a long career in substitute teaching, I am now living my best life in my small house in rural Merrickville, painting joyfully and travelling when the spirit moves me.
I have taken numerous drawing and painting courses both here and abroad. I love the subtlety, softness, and movement of watercolours. Colour, light, and atmosphere inspire my paintings. Painting has taught me to see the world in a different way, and I try to capture the essence of an object or landscape. I want my viewers to feel as much as to see my subjects.
