Jackie Kavanagh, a self-taught fibre artist, is passionate about fibre art that bursts with texture and colour. Jackie incorporates traditional hand weaving techniques to design modern fibre art. She is committed to creating unique meaningful artistry in each piece, focusing on compositions that have a vibrancy and playfulness to them. She creates as she weaves so her designs are free flowing, spontaneous and unique. Sustainability is important to Jackie and scraps of wool and other natural fibres are saved to be reused in future artwork. She has participated in various art shows and events in the Ottawa area since 2021.
