Glass artist – no, make that, magician – Vas Zastera put on a jaw-dropping presentation at the MAG Conversations event held at the Sidecar Cafe in Merrickville, March 8. The master craftsman, whose precision optical glass work is prized by scientists and has travelled to space on more than one mission, also turns his 30+ years of experience to creating unique works of art. His talk opened a window on the painstakingly detailed, delicate and sometimes scientifically fascinating processes that result in his spectacular creations.
