About Liane
I have always been captivated by various art forms. A lot of my time has been spent at Art Galleries and Exhibits in Canada and the USA. My favourites when I was younger were always European Art, and Canadian artists Tom Thomson, Emily Carr and Maud Lewis. The Group of Seven really captivated my passion.
Except for Art Classes in high school, I am self taught. I favour Abstract Art as it is an opportunity for others to see how I view my world and allow them to experience it through my eyes. It’s become a cathartic way in my healing and spiritual journey and I want to extend a very big thank you to the Merrickville Health Centre and Beth Donovan Hospice Art Therapy programs for their continued support with me in pursuing my passion.
I love exploring with my art, using a variety of watercolours, acrylics, markers, and pencils and I look forward to getting into pastels and charcoal. I also love making greeting cards and homemade journals as well as carving and sculpting. I am looking forward to exploring more art forms and learning a lot through the Merrickville Art Guild Activities.
