Dear MAG members and Friends
Unfortunately, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the Emerging Artists’ fund raising event scheduled for this Saturday, August 17th at the Merrickville Legion. We very much appreciated the generosity of art contributed by MAG members as well as the donation of items from local businesses and patrons. Based on the very low rate of response from participants for the auction of these items we felt that we should wait and reschedule the event to later in the year following a wider advertising and public awareness campaign. With your permission and support, we can store the items contributed thus far until the new dates are selected or we can return them directly to the donors. Similarly, we can also refund the donation of money and the $15 provided for the BBQ and horseshoe tournament if you wish. Please let us know.

We are having a fund raiser to boost our existing funds for the Emerging Artists Program. This Program provides 5 grants a year to high school graduates from nearby communities to encourage their interest in the arts. We are planning a fun-filled afternoon with a horseshoe tournament at 4:00 PM followed by a BBQ at 5:30 PM, a silent auction and a live auction at 6:30 PM

WHERE: Merrickville Legion, 229 Main St W, Merrickville, ON
COST: $15 per person
Our organizing Committee is comprised of myself, Joelle Schmid, Elena Venables and Mike Venables. We are soliciting donations of art from MAG Artists for both the silent and live auctions. Payment for the event can be sent to our Treasurer by e-transfer.
